Earlier this year I saw a call-out from Water for People’s CEO Ned Breslin to travel with him and report from the field about the water crisis. I love to travel and report about global development issues, so without a moment of hesitation I decided to apply. In fact, what was really compelling about the opportunity was this:
You write about and/or film anything you want. The good, the bad, the ugly. Whatever—all with no Water For People pre-approval, editing etc. It’s yours to say and reflect on how you feel about it, how you see it.
I decided to apply because obviously I didn’t have anything to lose, but so much to gain if I was chosen. On Valentine’s Day I was told I was the winner and couldn’t have been happier. I am Water for People’s “Blogger Out to Change the World“! The official announcement went live last Thursday.
I will be traveling to India with Ned and Water for People this fall and will be there for a full two weeks. In that amount of time there will be a ton of insights, to be sure.
Going to #India in last quarter of 2013 with super #blogger @jenniferjames of @socialgoodmoms - so excited! tinyurl.com/adw2l2b

I can’t wait to share everything I learn about water and sanitation with all of you later this year!
The more I travel, the more I learn. The more I learn, the more I can share!

Me too! I just bought three good reads on India. One historical, the other about today’s issues and another one about the India slums. I’m glad I’ll have some time to read them before the trip! :)
