In less than one month I will be off to Haiti, a little over two years since the devastating earthquake hit the tiny island on January 12, 2010. I won’t be going alone. I’ll be heading south with dear blogging friends and Everywhere who works heavily with Macy’s and their Heart of Haiti initiative.
We are going to meet Willa Shalit (pictured above) who is the CEO of Fairwinds Trading as well as amazing Haitian artists. Willa Shalit is the genius behind the Heart of Haiti program that allows Haitian artists’ work to be sold in Macy’s stores across the country.
While we are in Haiti we will also visit Sean Penn’s relief camp and a camp for women of domestic violence.
It’s going to be an amazing few days and I can’t wait to share it with all of you. This holiday season when you’re last minute shopping at Macy’s be sure to look for the Heart of Haiti section. Your purchase will literally go a long way to improve the livelihood of a Haitian artist and his or her family.
Happy Holidays!
Thank you for the reminder to visit the Heart of Haiti section at Macy’s. Will do!
I look forward to reading your posts Jennifer.
Have a beautiful holiday!
Thank you, Ann! Hope you were able to find some Heart of Haiti goodies!
Safe travels, Jennifer. I’m sure it will be a trip that impacts you forever.
Have a great trip! I’m so bummed I wasn’t able to join you guys.
